All items are in excellent functional condition. They may show signs of use, subtle variations in surface, or a natural patina acquired over time. These traces are not imperfections — they are part of the object’s history.
Condition & Patina
Patina reflects use, age, and material. It gives depth and character to an object.
Some pieces are left as close as possible to their original state. Others are carefully cleaned or restored to preserve their intended function and design.
No two objects age in the same way. Detailed photographs and condition reports are always available upon request.
Restoration & Customization
If restoration is required, it is carried out with respect for the original design and materials.
Should you wish a piece to be fully refurbished, reupholstered, or adapted to a specific use, this can be discussed prior to acquisition. Galerie Marel works with experienced craftsmen to ensure that any intervention remains faithful to the object’s character.
Shipping & Handling
Shipping is an essential part of the acquisition process.
All shipping quotes include professional packing and insurance. We work exclusively with specialized carriers experienced in handling antiques and decorative arts, both within Europe and internationally.
